The FDAA aims to provide painting experiences to its members in order to develop painting skills and provide for creative expression in a supportive environment. Promoting strong friendships and providing opportunities for members to socialise and meet like minded individuals is also part of our charter.
Opportunities to increase painting skills and share knowledge regarding Folk and Decorative Art come from our regular Conferences as well as Painting Days and Weekends.
Painting Days follow our General Meetings and occur approximately four times a year. At these days, either a guest artist conducts a workshop or an education day with hands on activities occurs.
For the guest artist, a workshop format is followed were a specific piece will be completed using techniques and methods developed by the artist.
The Education Days involve hands on activities to discover new methods or products, new or current to the art scene.
Painting weekends are a budget weekend paint fest. They include either one or a number of guest artists and are held at a venue that keeps the costs down. They may involve overnight accommodation or be two daily workshops that members and non members can attend on a daily basis.
These are great opportunities for members and non-members to come together and enjoy the simple pleasure of painting.
Painting Days - held at the same venue as our General Meetings.
Painting Weekends - venue will be advised.
Saturdays 10:00am to 3:30pm.
See General Meetings for dates.
