Helen Ovens Perpetual Trophy

2010 Winning Piece - Pam Jones

This is an ongoing bi-annual presentation in memory of Helen Ovens (1930 - 2006) - FDAA member, artist, friend and mother - who was responsible for providing the FDAA with memory boxes for other members to paint for the Memory Box Program.

The current holder of the trophy designs a line drawing pattern, suitable for the Memory Box Program, for the next competition year.

In the year of the competition, members are required to paint a Memory Box using their interpretation of the previous winner's design.

Entrants display their boxes at a pre determined venue, where other FDAA members vote for the winner.

The design may be adjusted to the size of box being used, the box may be paper mache and colours are your choice.

All the boxes entered are donated to a hospital supporting the Memory Box Program.

Next Competition Year

2012 is our next competition year for the Helen Oven’s Perpetual Trophy.
